Leakage Detection Performance Assessment

Commissioning and Function
testing of leak detector
Function testing of a leakage detector shall verify that the sensor detects a leakage, and that the alarm message is communicated correctly to the Operator.
Norwegian regulations require that the leak detector shall be function tested and verified and that the results of function testing shall be compared with the performance requirements (cf. Activity regulation §16 Installation and Commissioning, Guidelines).
Naxys Technologies has equipment and personnel available for function testing of the installed leak detector. Based on the results of the in-situ testing our experts will compare the actual performance to the performance requirements.
System Maintenance Support
We provide Service and Support for all our installed sensor systems. For leak detectors, the Norwegian regulations require that integrity of the leak detector shall be maintained during the entire life of the installation, to ensure that it carries out its required functions (Act regulation §45). The maintenance shall include monitoring of performance and technical condition, to identify and correct potential failure modes that are under development or have occurred (Act regulation, §47).
Sensors for IMR operations (ROV operated)
Our ROV-operated sensors are used for IMR operations (Inspection, Maintenance, Repair) for monitoring of subsea leakages, vibrations (FIV, FLIP), pump condition, compressor condition, choke valve condition, and acoustic noise monitoring. Sensors are offered for rental or purchase.
Noise measurement of subsea installation
Underwater noise caused by human activities impacts the marine environment. Increased Recently there has been increased attention to monitoring the noise signature from human activities and to understanding how this interferes and impacts ocean animals and marine ecosystems. The European Commission has established a Monitoring Guidance for its European Member states to meet the needs of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive Indicators for underwater noise in European marine waters.
Underwater noise contribution can generally be divided into A) impulsive noise with short duration and B) ambient noise with continuous duration. The latter is of importance for subsea production installation where continuous noise may be generated by flow, choking, pumps and compressors.
Naxys Technologies has monitoring equipment and acoustic analytics experts to provide a complete noise monitoring survey. In 2021 we have in cooperation with an Operator, carried out noise measurement of a Multi-Phase Pump.
Shock pulse monitoring

Rental of Naxys Deep Water Test Station (210m water)
Naxys Deep Water Station is located at 210m in the fjord outside our office facility. It provides an opportunity to test subsea equipment in a realistic environment; from short term (hours, days) to long term (weeks, months). The station is equipped with power and communication back to our control room, enabling real-time communication with the equipment under test.
Deployment and recovery are without use of large vessel, and this significantly reduced the cost for the deep water testing.
Temperature, Vibration, Helium leak testing
We offer testing of electronics and electronics containments such as temperature cycling, shock and vibration, and Helium leak test. This includes an operator, personnel required for handling the equipment and preparation of test documentation.
